Class Descriptions

All Levels Yoga - Beginning and experienced students practice together.  Involves flowing movements, from pose to pose, designed to increase flexibility, while strengthening and toning all core muscle groups.  Class also includes focus on breathing and ends with a final relaxation for releasing stress and restoring the body.   No prior experience needed.

Vinyasa Yoga –Increase your strength, endurance and flexibility in this class where movement and breath are united in a flowing sequence of asanas (poses).  This practice will deepen the connection between fluid movements; each breath you take will increase your peace of mind.

Hot Yoga - Get Ready to Sweat!  Hot Yoga is a combination of flowing Vinyasa style yoga and holding and working deeper into poses. The room is maintained at a temperature of 95-100 degrees.  A vigorous yoga workout at this temperature promotes profuse sweating which rids the body of toxins.  It also makes the body very warm, and therefore more flexible enabling working deeper into poses and stretches.  Class will allow for a relaxing cool down at the end of class.  It is essential to have your own yoga mat and towel for Hot Yoga since you will be mostly likely be perspiring a lot.  Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after class so you don't get dehydrated. It is not advisable to eat during the two hours before class.

Yoga for Longevity – Discover the beautiful and healthy experience of yoga!  A gentle and slow-paced yoga class designed to increase flexibility and body awareness, strengthen the spine, promote weight loss, and reduce stress.  This class is perfect for anyone desiring to achieve a healthy, balanced life and tap into the fountain of youth!   No experience needed.

Therapeutic Yoga Great class deigned for anyone who needs a careful and gradual approach to exercise, such as persons who have been physically inactive, suffer from chronic pain, recovering from injury or illness, seniors, pregnant or two months after childbirth.   Gentler than an all levels yoga, modifications offered for specific needs.   Chairs and other yoga props will be used and postures modified so that every body type and size can benefit from the practice of yoga.  The atmosphere of the class is noncompetitive, supportive and accepting.

Creative Yoga - A special 75 minute class that is unique and fun. Creative yoga is inspired by Ashtanga, Anusara, and Baptiste Power yoga.  Each style brings with it a different element that makes for a fun flowing class.  Join us on Saturday mornings!

Core Synergy Combines the disciplines of Pilates, yoga, core-conditioning and orthopedic stretching to produce long, lean muscles and a strong, flexible, youthful body.  The focus, intensity and challenge of this one-hour class allows the participant to work form the inside out, creating a unique, results oriented class experience.  One of our most popular classes!

Pre-Natal Yoga Yoga is an excellent form of exercise for pre-natal conditioning.  (See separate brochure on benefits of yoga for pre-natal).   We recommend pre-natal students start with at least one private session with instructor to learn basic poses and modifications for poses due to pre-natal condition.  Student should consider repeating at least one private session at the beginning of each trimester to learn new modifications for continued changes in the body as pregnancy progresses.  Pre-natal students can then participate in regular scheduled yoga classes as it fits their schedule.  Classes labeled all levels, therapeutic and yoga pm are recommended for pre-natal students. Pre-natal students should check with their doctor before engaging in any exercise program.
